SHREWSBURY defender Luke Jones has extended his loan stay at Harriers for another month but midfielder Matthew Bailey returns to Wolverhampton Wanderers after failing to impress.

Jones, 20, is eligible to play for Harriers until Tuesday, April 1, after the club thrashed out a deal with their Midlands rivals.

The defender has impressed since he joined the club on January 31 for an initial month-long move and has started the last five games alongside Mark Creighton in central defence.

In contrast Bailey has struggled to secure a first team spot since he joined from the Championship side on a month's loan on the final day of the transfer window. He started against Northwich Victoria and Salisbury and faded in both games after bright openings.

"I'm really happy to be playing at Harriers for another month," said Jones.

"I was sitting on the bench at Shrewsbury so personally it was important for me to be playing as often as I can.

"I have played the last five games for Harriers and as I get my match sharpness back I think the fans will see me improve.

"I think Mark Creighton and myself have gelled quickly together but the more time we play together the better we will get.

"At the moment we're not getting the right results but I think we have to take some confidence from our performances, as we have made chances against Torquay and Aldershot and not taken them."

With manager Gary Peters leaving Shrewsbury on Monday, the defender admitted that his future at the League Two club will be up in the air when his loan comes to an end.

Jones said: "It all depends what Shrewsbury want to do when my loan comes to an end, they have just let the manager go so we will see what happens."
