STOURPORT CC had contrasting experiences in the Worcestershire Crusader League Division Three over the Bank Holiday weekend.

On Saturday, they obtained a winning draw against leaders Harborne at Walshes Meadow but were left frustrated on Monday when their clash against Kidderminster was rained off.

Against Harborne, captain Phil Williams won the toss and decided to bat first and made the visitors field in cold and windy conditions.

Neil Bailey, 102 not out, was the highlight of the game, while Craig Siwicki (57) and Dan Platt (36) helped Stourport to reach a total of 258-5.

A brilliant spell of seam bowling from Siwicki saw him pick up four wickets, while Bevan Neill again performed strongly and took four and Mat Delo one as Harborne were restricted to 243-9.

The second team lost at the hands of Harborne on Saturday.

Fielding first, Stourport struggled to contain the Birmingham side, who declared on 304-7.

Andy Goddard was the pick of Stourport's bowlers with figures of 3-53 with Adam Selleck, Marc Guest, Chris Mills and James Harris also getting one each. In reply, Stourport were all out in the 51st over for 237, after good contributions from Alan Lockwood (62), Richard Savery (49) and Chris Mills (33).

Stourport's third team lost to Coombs Wood, despite 43 runs for Ryan Delo.

Coombs Wood reached the target in the 23rd over for the loss of one wicket, which was caught by the debutant wicketkeeper Harley Grundy.

On Monday the seconds were frustrated by the rain, after reducing Kidderminster to 145-9, with Andy Goddard (3), John Downes (3), Craig Homer (2) and Chris Mills taking wickets.

The under-12s lost to Worfield, who made 117-5 before Stourport were dismissed for 47.

The under-13s defeated Kidderminster. Their opponents made 99-1 but they replied with 103-2.
