Stourport men's 5th XI lost 0-11 to the best side in the South West 8 Division, when they entertained Birmingham Universities 6th XI.

Stourport held the University side for the opening twenty-five minutes before their visitors scored the first of their four goals before the break.

After the break, the visitors scored a further seven goals which were all of a better quality than what the expectation is for this league.

Stourport still had their chances though, with their player of the match, Allan Moss getting in some good tackles to start off some counter-attacks, and Ian Turner in goal preventing the score from being higher with some fine saves.

Vitality Women's Division 1 North league leaders, Stourport ladies 1st XI, returned to the top of the league following a 1-0 win over their hosts Leeds.

The match was played in difficult weather conditions, with strong winds and heavy rain showers, which saw Stourport dominate the match.

The visitors hit the Leeds woodwork three times in the opening period, and some outstanding saves by the home keeper kept the scores level at 0-0 at the break.

Despite having the wind behind them in the second half, Leeds struggled to mount any meaningful attacks against the well-drilled Stourport side that retained all of the possession.

Stourport continued to push forward throughout the second half, but it wasn't until the final five minutes that they secured the three points.

The trap from a Stourport penalty corner was pushed to Lucy Walton who rifled the ball into the bottom corner for the only goal of the match.

Next week Stourport entertains second-placed Bowden, in a match that could decide who wins the league.

Stourport ladies 4th XI secured a 6-2 victory over their visitors Redditch 2nd XI, in this rearranged Midlands Women's Division 5 Beacon match.

Despite being without a goalkeeper Stourport went ahead early on only for Redditch to equalise from a quick break shortly afterward.

Stourport regrouped and added a further three goals before the halftime break.

Redditch did pull a goal back as the Stourport defence gave away a penalty flick after a body stopped the ball on the line, and Captain Lucy Harding was unable to stop the ball from going in.

Stourport went on to score twice more including a Harding goal, from a penalty corner.
