Stourport men's 1st XI, buoyed by the return talismanic Simon Claris, after his horrific injury three weeks ago, secured a lackluster 5-2 victory against hosts Hampton in the Midlands Men's Premiership division.

Claris soon marked his return by scoring with a trademark penalty corner, which was followed by a second Stourport goal for Adam Leeke.

Hampton pulled a goal back before Claris doubled his tally giving Stourport a 3-1 advantage at the break. Joe Schubert added a fourth goal for the visitors before their hosts scored a consolation goal to make it 4-2, and Claris marked his comeback with a hat trick to complete a 5-2 victory.

This ensures that Stourport remain unbeaten and top of the league with five matches to go.

Stourport men's 5th XI were unlucky to lose 3-4 when their hosts Edgbaston 5th scored the winner in the last five minutes of their South West 8 Division match.

With a much-improved performance, Stourport came back from 0-1 through a Mike Kirby Davis goal in the fifteenth minute.

Stourport's second came in the twentieth minute through David Henderson. At 2-3 down Stourport staged another comeback as Rob Nicholls, scored his first goal since returning to the club, levelling the scores with five minutes to go.

There was still time for a deciding goal, though, as Edgbaston broke Stourport's hearts with a deflected goal, with only thirty seconds to go.
