Jason Holder has voiced his ambition to return to Worcestershire after his five-match stint at New Road ended.

The former West Indies captain has spoken of his profound enjoyment of his time at the club, noting that it has ignited a newfound love for cricket.

Holder ended his stint in style with a century in the draw against Kent at the Spitfire Ground.

He said his time at the Pears has given him "the most warm and welcoming feeling I’ve ever had playing in any different team."

Holder has said that his short spell has got him looking forward to return to England with the West Indies for this summer's test series after hosting the ICC T20 World Cup.

He said: "It has been unbelievable, a hell of an experience.

"I think the boys have been outstanding.

"I said to them they have given me a new love for cricket.

“It has been one of those stints where you get everything you want to achieve out of it."

Despite the lack of victories during his run at the club, Holder spoke of the potential he sees in the team.

"It is unfortunate we didn’t win a game and I was really looking forward to singing the team song but each and every game has shown glimpses that this team [has] something special about it."

He added: "The boys are a hell of a bunch.

"I’ve enjoyed every single moment and I’ll definitely be back.

“I’ve been amazed about how tight one group can be and everyone plays for the right reasons.

"You wake up and look forward every single morning to going in and being around these boys and that is something I haven’t had for a very long time."

He concluded: "I thank Worcestershire for having me and hopefully I can be back and actually play a game at New Road."
