BEWDLEY Pines GC duo Kathryn Harvey and Kay Beaman booked their place in a national final after success in Derbyshire.

The duo came second in the 2008 Ping Women’s four-ball tournament of England at the weekend.

They will now contest the grand final, which is set to be played at the Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel Golf and Country Club on Tuesday, October 7.

In Derbyshire, Harvey and Beaman needed a birdie on the last hole to match eventual winners Jane Whyatt and Shirley Kay from Matlock GC but couldn’t quite manage it.

Harvey plays off eight, is a county golfer and is currently ladies captain and club champion at Bewdley Pines.
