GOALKEEPER Adam Bartlett was the hero for Harriers after a last-gasp penalty save ensured they earned a point in Wiltshire.

Harriers' hopes of putting the pressure on the top five in the Blue Square Premier seemed to have taken a knock after Brian Smikle fouled Charles Ademeno in the 91st minute.

But Bartlett guessed the right way and punched Matt Tubbs' spot-kick away to secure a draw.

A point was at least what Harriers deserved at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium after a dominant first half and flurry of late scoring opportunities after the break.

However, the draw also meant they did not gain any ground on the top five play-off hopefuls.

Harriers started brightly and Matthew Barnes-Homer saw a 20-yard shot fly just wide of James Bittner's goal inside the opening minute.

Chris McPhee also test the keeper moments later.

The visitors were dominating the first half and their crisp passing was carving open Salisbury. But the hosts were battling hard and Tubbs shot wide from 30-yard out, while winger Ademeno stabbed a close-range effort wide after Harriers failed to clear a corner.

Bartlett kept his side in the game when he dived to his right to palm Mike Fowler's low shot behind in the 29th minute.

In the second half the hosts came out fighting and Salisbury top scorer Charlie Griffin shot over the bar after powering into the box.

Harriers were struggling and it took a last-ditch tackle by Mark Creighton put off Ademeno, after he had stole the ball off the out of sorts Lee Baker.

Manager Mark Yates took decisive action and threw on Justin Richards, Brian Smikle and Russ Penn mid-way through the half in a bid to pep up his side.

The visitors took some time to settle in but when they did, Harriers piled on intense pressure as they searched for a goal.

Midfielder Dean Bennett shot weakly at keeper Bittner and minutes watched a long range effort just fly over the bar.

The Worcestershire side were in the ascendancy and Bittner denied Smikle and Barnes-Homer in a frantic end to the game.

But Harriers suffered a set-back in the 91st minute when the refeee blew for a penalty after Smikle's challenge on Ademeno.

Bartlett, who made a last-gasp penalty save at Torquay in December, pulled off another to ensure it was honours even.
