MANAGER Mark Yates believes goalkeeper Adam Bartlett is the best keeper in the Blue Square Premier after his last-gasp penalty heroics in Saturday's 0-0 draw at Salisbury City.

Harriers had dominated the first half and weathered a resurgence by the home side after the break to push for a late winner.

Those chances seemed dashed, however, when Salisbury were awarded a 91st minute penalty.

But Bartlett produced a repeat of his heroics in Torquay, when he saved Matt Tubbs' spot-kick.

The point means Harriers are still in the hunt for a play-off spot.

"I've seen Adam save penalties day-in and day-out and as a shot-stopper there is no equal at our level or the one above," said Yates.

"He pulled off a really good save and I think it would have been an injustice if we had been beaten.

"We dominated the first half and even in the second their keeper was the busier.

"In the first 20 minutes of the second half we lacked a bit of sparkle and allowed them back into the game but I can't remember our keeper having that much to do.

"We're disappointed that we didn't win but on the positive we've not been beaten, kept a clean sheet and earned a point."

However, the manager believes that his side need more cutting edge after failing to take a host of chances late on.

The manager said: "When we got into their half have we've had some decent chances and their keeper made some good saves.

"We created a number of chances but lacked that killer touch in front of goal and it cost us.

"Ultimately, Salisbury have missed the best chance of the game with the penalty."
