STUDENTS from Stourport Trampoline Club competed in the National Qualifiers at Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre in Birmingham.

With places in the National Championships at the NIA up for grabs, students raised the bar.

Coaches Lauren Draper, 21 and Sammi House, 19, who both also train at University of Worcester, competed at National C level in trampoline and double mini-trampoline categories.

The duo both received national qualifying scores and will be competing in the British Trampoline Championships which will be held in July.

House had an excellent competition on the trampoline, where she completed two quality routines against tough competition.

The first routine was very stable and safe but House completed her second routine with perfect execution and precision and gained one of the highest scores as well as completing the highest difficulty score with a tariff of 7.0 in her section, securing her 16th place and the last qualifying place.

Draper gained a respectable 18th place out of 40 competitors but unfortunately just missed out on making the national qualifying score by two places.

In the double-mini section, Draper gained her qualifying score for the national and sealed a qualification point for the Federation of International Gymnastics B.

She then competed four solid passes to gain herself fourth place out of 47.

After her first pass, in which she landed two safe skills, she was in eighth place but due to high difficulty in her next two passes, she moved up to fourth place which she secured after a quality fourth pass.
