STOURPORT CC continued their resurgent form in the Worcestershire League Division Three with a 118 run win over Burghill and Tillington on Saturday.

Victory ensured Stourport recorded three wins in a row to lift them to eighth in the table.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Stourport scored 235-9 in their 50 overs with Phil Williams making 59, Dan Platt hitting 33 and Craig Siwicki scoring 32.

In Burghill’s reply, Bevan Neill then took control for Stourport claiming 4-31 in his non-stop 17 overs spell and was well supported by all of the bowlers, including Craig Siwicki who took two wickets.

The visitor's batting always looked suspect and Stourport wrapped up the game in the 40th over by bowling them out for 117.

The second team were also too strong for Burghill and Tillington, winning by 85 runs.

Stourport batted first and thanks to a century from David Pittaway (106) and contributions by Chris Vargesson (39), Jim Cook (38), Bryan Colley (28) and Joe Phillips (28), they stirred up a daunting 286-6 in their 50 overs.

In reply, the hosts were bowled out for 201 with just one ball left in the match at the delight of the away side.

Captain Mark Guest claimed 4-40 and man of the match Pittaway returned figures of 3-34.

The thirds lost by five wickets to Hagley at Hartlebury.

Captain Andy Goddard won the toss and chose to bat. Sam Hayes top scored with an impressive 68 not out and contributions from Joe Howes (35 not out), Connor Franklin (30) and Ryan Delo (26) helped post a total of 200-3 in their 45 overs.

However, Hagley knocked off the runs in the 35th over to win by five wickets, with James Harris taking 3-47.
