MIDFIELDER David McDermott has returned to Harriers after signing a one-year deal today.

Lively local-lad McDermott first joined Harriers last summer after leaving Walsall and made 29 appearances for the club in 2008/09 season, scoring once.

His capture means that the club now have six players contracted for next season in the Blue Square Premier.

Blessed with great pace and an ability to beat defenders, McDermott was largely used as an impact substitute by boss Mark Yates, but there's little doubting the youngster will be looking to make an even bigger impression this time around.

The midfielder was one of a host of players released by the club last season but the management were always interested in bringing him back.

McDermott said: "I'm pleased it's been sorted - if I could use one word to describe last season it would be 'frustrating'; so I'm really looking forward to getting a chance to show what I can do this season.

"Last time around I would have liked to have played a lot more but whereas I sort of threw in the town when I was at Walsall and not being played, at Kidderminster I've just made sure I stayed fit and knuckled down.

"In the games I played I think I did well, but I've got a lot more to show people."
