GREAT Western’s Pete Carter hit three centuries and a 90 closing shot in the opening leg against Red Lion’s Will Hall in the Hire IT Wribbenhall Darts League.

Carter played some of his best darts only to see his team lose on the night to Red Lion.

Captain Glen Trow put his team two legs up against Lion’s captain Alan Marshall, who should have took the leg had he not missed double 16 with a hat full of darts.

This was unlike Trow, who took his chance at the first time of asking.

Lion county player Russ Wilks pulled a leg back by overcoming Mike Pain.

Lion kicked off the next leg with Tony Danks beating Dave Pratt to square up the match.

Trow again put his team back in the driving seat in the doubles alongside Pain, only to see Pete Wood losing out to Darren Wilks.

Carter, Wood and Pratt put up a fair fight in the trebles with Pratt twice sinking several 140s but Wilks’ county experience came through as he landed double 20 and a 18 closing shot to secure the trebles alongside Steve Buckley and Marshall.

Leaders Wribbenhall Social came through with no problems against basement boys Black Boy Hotel and in-form Rising Sun got the better of Bewdley Bowling.

Results: BBC 2, Rising Sun 5; WSC 6, Black Boy Hotel 1; Western 3, Red Lion 4.

Friday’s fixtures: Lion v BBC; WSC v Western; Black Boy Hotel v Waggon.
