FERNDALE Ladies are second in the newly formed Herefordshire and Worcestershire League after beating Continental Star 4-1.
The seconds notched up their fourth win in a row in Birmingham.
The game was made difficult due to the size of the pitch but Ferndale battled hard and Debbie Prescott and Jodi Boraston bagged a brace each.
On Sunday, they take on top of the table Ludlow Town in the league (2pm kick-off).
The first team lost to Coventry Ladies Development side 6-2 in the West Midlands Division One South, despite goals for Jenni Coleburn and Kirsty Jones.
n In the Premier Division, Kidderminster Harriers lost 7-2 to Solihull.
Lisa Stokes opened the scoring but Solihull hit back to take a 2-1 lead at the break.
Despite the appearance of former Aston Villa striker Amy Marshall in the second half, Harriers were no match for Solihull, who powered into a 7-1 lead.
Harriers did not give up and scored a second goal in the 82nd minute, when a well-worked short corner routine was finished off by Laura Donnelly.
Harriers take on Stoke-based Bradwell Belles in the League Cup on Sunday (3pm kick-off).
n Cookley Sports under-16s continued their fine start to the season with a 5-0 home win against Banbury United.
Ellie Richardson (2), Megan Lowell, Elspeth Webb and Ellie Draper hit the back of the net.
