CHESS: Bewdley’s Jim Friar and sons James and Joseph have played a big part in winning the Worcestershire League Second Division championship for Hagley.
Throughout the campaign Jim scored five points from a possible six, James amassed 4.5 out of five and Joseph clocked up three out of five.
James and Joseph also achieved success in the Midlands Junior tournament held at Malvern College.
Again representing Hagley, the brothers defeated their Malvern College A opponents in a keenly contested final.
