Harriers were dealt their first transfer blow of the summer after Brian Smikle signed for Cheltenham Town.

The 24-year-old is the only member of the current squad that has so far been offered a new deal by Harriers boss Steve Burr.

But Smikle, who bagged 13 goals last summer, has decided to link up with former Harrriers boss Mark Yates and assistant Neil Howarth.

The former West Bromwich Albion junior joined Harriers in the summer of 2006.

He started on the fringw of the squad but emerged as a major player for Harriers over the last two seasons.

Smikle scored 24 goals for Harriers in 169 appearances.

His goals and work rate this season also saw him named Harriers' player of the season.
