Harriers have offered defender Martin Riley a new contract but could still lose him.

The 21-year-old is thought to be sought after by several Football League clubs.

If the former Wolverhampton Wanderers trainee moves on, Harriers can claim compensation under the Bosman Ruling.

Riley has told the club that he has had several offers.

Manager Steve Burr said: “I have spoken to Martin and he has said that there are a number of clubs who have stated they are prepared to pay money to take him for next season.

“We have offered him re-engagement with us, so we do have that protection should he get himself fixed up with a club.”

Riley's fellow centreback Gavin Caines is to leave the club, despite activating a deal to extend his stay at the club.

After talks with Burr, Caines is free to move on. The former Cheltenham Town defender was an ever present but fell out of favour after the FA Trophy loss to Stevenage and was loaned to Luton Town.

Meanwhile, right back Liam Dolman has signed for Corby Town after being released.
