MEMBERS of Stourport Trampoline Club have savoured a fine start to the year with students competing well at regional, zonal and national levels over the past three months.

Taymar Pearce-Mason, 12, had an exceptional start to the competitive year, starting with the Zonal Schools Championships in Cardiff, where she represented the Chantry High School.

Her and clubmate Laura Saich, 13, who was competing for Hagley RC High School, and performed strong routines to put them into the top 10 in their groups.

Sophie Allen, 19, made her debut in Hertfordshire joining Taymar Pearce-Mason on the national circuit.

The Midlands Gala allows trampolinists to qualify for the British National Championships at the NIA in Birmingham and international level, which both Allen and Pearce-Mason narrowly missed out on.

Pearce-Mason competed two good routines with a high difficulty in her second routine, gaining her 38th place in her age group. Allen had excellent warm-ups but after putting her hands down at the end of the first routine she came in 43rd place.

George Collingridge, 14, continued a two-year winning spree. In January, the Stourport student competed in Erdington in grade E and defeated all other competitors by three whole points and gained another first to comfortably qualify for Grade D.

Collingridge maintained winning this month in Shrewsbury, taking another first place and just missing out on qualification for national level.

Liz Hollis, 15, also competed well in Northfield, returning to regional competitions after having a break due to exams. She competed in the senior category for the first time at grade G, where she was the youngest competitor in her group. Despite her break, Hollis competed two superb routines to take second place and qualified for grade F.

Lauren Bell, 10, had already qualified for grade F and continued to work hard to learn two new skills.

Sophie Jancey, 13, in grade E and Issy Pearce-Mason, 15, in grade F, continued to improve their scores with every competition and both narrowly missed qualification to the next grade but achieved personal bests.

The junior section of the club saw many new faces last weekend in Northfield with each student completing two whole routines.

Erin Bell, 7, and Harriet Jones, 8, returned after a successful season last year and both performed brilliantly with Bell gaining third place and Jones just missing out on a medal in fourth.

In the under-11s age group, seven-year-olds Ella Dew and Sophie Gardner made their debut and competed well to help their team take first place.

The under-15s age group saw even more new members competing at regional level with Annie Doyle, Annie French and Georgina Knott all making their debut.

Annabelle Jones had an excellent competition and earned second, while the team came runners-up, with the help of Emily Connolly, Laura Saich and Ellie-Mae Dunn.

Annie Doyle, Annie French, Georgina Knott and Molly Speed competed well together to gain team third.

Frankie Blincoe-Deval, 9, had his best competition this year after winning his grade, where he was competing against all age groups at his level.

He performed both his routines flawlessly and achieved a seasonal best and personal best.
