IYSEDEN Christie has warned his new defensive colleagues to beware the threat of Taiwo Atieno when his former striker partner returns to Aggborough with Tamworth on Saturday.

The Christie-Atieno double act never really clicked and while Iyseden left to join Rochdale in January, Taiwo returned to Walsall who released him in the summer.

But Atieno notched in Tamworth's win over Stevenage on Saturday and Christie believes Harriers should ignore him at their peril.

"He's got ability because he wouldn't be playing anywhere near this level if he hadn't," said Christie.

"It didn't quite work out for him here but he's got a presence which you need in the Conference and he could be a handful.

"He's better in the air than me but there are other areas where I'm better than him."

Both Tamworth and Kidderminster kicked off their campaigns with 3-1 home defeats against Conference newcomers, losing to Weymouth and St Albans respectively on the opening day.

And like Harriers, the Lambs have since struggled to get going with a mixed bag of results which has seen them take six points from six games, just one more than Mark Yates's men.

Tamworth lost heavily to Gravesend and Dagenham, although they have since shown signs of recovery with wins over Exeter and Stevenage either side of a defeat at St Albans.

On Tuesday, Harriers travel to the Abbey Stadium to take on managerless and winless Cambridge.

The U's, who travel to Forest Green Rovers on Saturday, are experiencing an even tougher time than Kidderminster during their second season back in the Conference.

The only point they have picked up is from a draw at St Albans, while they have lost all three home games to Northwich, Halifax and Exeter, along with away defeats at Weymouth and Dagenham.

They sacked manager Rob Newman last week and replaced him with caretaker boss Chris Turner.

Meanwhile, Harriers reserves kicked off their Central Conference season with a 2-1 win over Burton Albion at Aggborough on Tuesday night with goals from Jamie McClen and Michael McGrath.
