RISING Sun A made a swift return to the top of the Hire It Wribbenhall Darts League by beating their B team on Friday night.

They took control of the match from dart one, when Neil Bennett beat Steve Bradbury convincingly in the opening leg hitting treble 20 and double 16.

Ben Johnson and Paul Crompton provided a high class match of the night with opening darts of 140 and 120 respectively in this entertaining leg.

Johnson pounded away at the treble 20s but was unlucky not to take the leg in 11 dart and his fate looked sealed when Crompton had three darts at double eight.

However, the Sun B thrower hit double 16 instead and allowed a relieved Johnson the easy task of wrapping up the leg on double 12.

Mark Williams continued his winning ways with a leg victory over John Bishop and Roger Hoare in the doubles, checking a 68-outshot and making easy work for Sun A with a whitewash victory.

Bowling Club’s luck finally ran out as they lost the top spot after going down the final leg against Red Lion.

Archie Fearnall produced a frightening display of darts, hitting 180 followed up with a 120 outshot against Bowler’s Max John to take the match.

Wribbenhall A defeated Great Western and Waggon got back to winning ways after last week’s disappointment seeing off basement boys Wribbenhall B.
