HARRIERS assistant boss Gary Whild believes it's early days for the new-look Aggborough outfit as they prepare for tonight's Blue Square Bet Premier clash at Lincoln City.

Steve Burr's side will be looking to bounce back and cut out the mistakes which cost them dearly at home to Gateshead on the opening day of the season.

They face a Lincoln side aiming to get back into the Football League after their relegation last season. Steve Tilson's side opened the season with a 2-2 draw at Southport but will be hungry to get off to a win at home.

Despite the defeat, Whild feels the spirit in the camp is good ahead of the Conference clash at Sincil Bank.

He said: "Everybody's come back into training on Monday and the feeling around the squad is very positive," commented Whild.

"We're all disappointed about losing to Gateshead but there were positives to take from the game.

"We've still got new players settling into the side and it will take a few games for them to gel.

"Gateshead looked a decent side and although I'm not blaming it for the defeat, it doesn't help when you have decisions like the penalty go against us.

"Steve and I have looked at it six or seven times and we still don't know how it was given."

Harriers squad go into the game with no new injuries and only midfielder Jack Cresswell and defender Michael Briscoe injured.

Cresswell has had problems with a back injury because of bad posture but after the problem was identified by physio Gavin Crowe, it is on its way to being corrected.

Briscoe twinged his back at the end of last week and is set to be out for a week as a precaution.

"Jack's problem was one of posture but it's one that can be corrected," commented Whild.

"We were a little disappointed it wasn't picked up at Walsall but it's been sorted by Gavin [Crowe] and Jack's absence is more of a precaution.

"Michael's been very unlucky, he had hernia surgery in the summer which went well and now's he's had this.

"It's very easy when you're recovering from a big injury to pick up smaller ones."

Jack Byrne is still suspended for his sending off at Rushden and Diamonds at the end of last season.
