TRIATHLON: Rachel Ward won her age-group at the Ludlow Triathlon last weekend.

The 52-year-old Stourport on Severn doctor clocked one hour, 31 minutes and 22 seconds to take the over-50s title.

Earlier this month, Dr Ward had clocked 2-50-56 at the World Championships in Beijing to finish 12th out of a field of 25.

Following his mother’s example last Sunday, was the doctor's 15-year-old son Henry, who recorded 13-03 to finish seventh out of 50 competitors at the Tudor Grange Open Aquathlon in Solihull.

Last weekend, members of Triathlon Kidderminster and Stourport (TRiKS) were out in force for the last time this season with 12 members competing in Ludlow.

In 18th position overall, Deane Hart had a very competitive performance and with Jason Dimmock, they recorded 01-22-29 and 01-23-55 respectively.

Paul Bailey had a solid performance with 01-26-08, followed by Phil Taylor (01-28-44) and Jason Lloyd (01-35-25) on his debut.

Steve Moore got the edge on Rob Reynolds with 01-34-09 and 01-3-59s respectively.

Catherine Coley did very well with a time of 01-36-15, Dennis Thacker (01-38-12), Lenka Moore (01-38-28), Amy Waring (01-04-39) and Sian Golding debuting with 01-42-49.
