STOURPORT Ladies rose one place to fourth in the Midlands Premier Division after a 3-2 win over Matlock on Saturday.

After a scrappy start, Stourport’s player of the match Sarah Cavendish’s vision started to pay dividends.

Lora Symonds opened up the opposition’s defence, allowing Sade Gerald to slot home her side’s opener.

Unfortunately for Stourport, their hosts were soon back on level terms after an inaccurate pass allowed a Matlock forward to punish the mistake by making it 1-1.

With Symonds, Jodi Vincent and Harriet Burns lookng dangerous, the away side regained the lead through Gerald.

In the second half, Stourport’s Georgi Burns, Pippa Lewis and Sophie Harris all had breaks to score further goals but were unable to add to the score.

As the visitors tired towards the end of the match, Matlock made it 2-2 but Harris bagged a late winner with an emphatic strike.

In the Midlands Feeder West League, the seconds drew with Telford’s firsts 1-1, with Fran Moss scoring the leveller.

The thirds went down 4-2 in Worcestershire Division One at the hands of Old Silhillians.

Karen McIntyre’s brace had fired Stourport ahead in the second half but Old Sils replied with three goals in a frenetic end to the game.

In Division Two, Stourport’s fourths team lost 8-3 at Droitwich Spa.

The fifths got the better of Woodrush School 2-1 in Division Three, with Anna Weston’s brace deciding the match in Stourport's favour.

n In the Midlands Premier Divison, Stourport Men drew 2-2 with Telford and Wrekin, with Peter Gibbins and David Knott on target.

Kidderminster lost 2-1 in the West Midlands Premier Division, despite Simon Burkes’ goal.

On Saturday, South Nottingham play at Stourport, while Kidderminster entertain Tamworth.
