Coventry Sphinx 0, Stourport Swifts 5

Any hangovers from Stourport’s disappointing midweek FA Cup exit at the hands of Stafford Rangers were banished as they swept Sphinx aside in spectacular fashion.

Calvin Dinsley took just two minutes to open the Swifts account and from then on there was only going to be one winner.

Dinsley struck from the edge of the area, sending the ball past keeper Scott Furlong following some good work from Joe Adams and Lewis Pountney.

Sphinx went down to ten men midway through the half when former Kidderminster frontman Iyesden Christie picked up two bookings in quick succession for dissent.

Five minutes later and the visitors doubled their lead when striker John Griffin, back at the club following spells with Stourbridge and Halesowen Town, linked up well with Pountney before firing home.

That was how it remained until the final 11 minutes when Swifts netted three more times to wrap up the points.

Substitute Kyonn Evans made it 3-0, turning home a Tim Jackson cross, before Pountney capped another fine display with an 81st minute effort.

Louis Bridges completed the rout three minutes into injury time as Swifts leap-frogged Boldmere St Michaels into second in the MFA table.
