WARRIORS.
7 van Breda – lost his first aerial battle but was full of running in the opening 40 minutes and provided the assist for Adams’ try.
6 Heem – made one surge down the right flank but caused a moment of panic when he took a quick lineout by Warriors’ tryline and his risky pass was knocked on.
7 Venter – rarely got on the ball in attack but little got past him as he defended resiliently throughout, putting in some big tackles to keep Pau at bay.
7 Mills – put in a solid defensive shift, led the troops well as skipper and helped alleviate the danger in the second period with a tidy kicking game.
8 Adams – got Warriors off the mark with a fine finish and used his quick feet to great effect moments later when he released Fa’osiliva.
8 WEIR – despite torrid conditions the fly-half landed all five of his kicks including a penalty from long distance and kicked well out of hand too. My man of the match.
7 Arr – making his first start since the second game of the season the scrum-half used all his experience to guide Worcester around the field.
7 Black – had plenty of work to do in the scrum but stood up to the task as the front row gave Warriors a solid platform.
7 Singleton – aside from two lineouts the hooker’s throwing was accurate, made some carries in the first half and was part of a strong scrummaging display.
7 Schonert – received medical attention on a couple of occasions as he put his body on the line and held up his end of the scrum.
7 Bresler – spilled one lineout but was otherwise faultless in the air and although he made the odd mistake the lock packed a punch in defence.
6 Fatialofa – considering it was his first outing the second row did a great job running the lineout but showed his rustiness with a number of handling mistakes.
7 Hill – demonstrated his physicality with several big hits and got in the faces of the Pau forwards as Warriors shut out their opponents.
8 Mama – returning from injury the back rower produced a superb all-action display as he carried hard, tackled well and secured a couple of turnovers.
7 Fa’osiliva – scored a brilliant try when he front-footed two Pau players before powering under the posts but suffered a blow to his knee in the process.
