French website RMC Sport has published that the United States international will join on a two-year deal, ending the "search for a solid hooker" for next season.

That quest is said to have seen enquiries made for Toulouse's Peato Mauvaka, who eventually chose to extend his deal, and Etienne Fourcade.

Taufete joined Worcester in December 2016 on a deal until the end of that season and following a brief spell back home following the birth of his first child established himself as a staple part of the side.

That led to a permanent deal ahead of the 2017-18 season in which he made appearances and scored four tries, including a hat-trick in a win over Brive.

He made rugby history in March 2019 when he broke the record for most tries by a front-row forward in international rugby.

Going into the match against Uruguay in Seattle, his 21st international, level with former Ireland hooker Keith Wood on 15 career tries, Taufete'e broke the record in style by scoring a hat-trick.

Warriors reiterated the club's policy not to comment on speculation when approached by Worcester News
