A POPULAR Hereford watering hole has been named 'Pub of the Year 2017'.
Wye Valley Brewery’s flagship pub, The Barrels, was awarded the accolade by Herefordshire CAMRA.
A favourite with the local community as well as visitors to Hereford, The Barrels has been described by Herefordshire CAMRA as “very special indeed” and praised for its “overarching friendliness”.
The 18th Century coaching inn has been named Herefordshire Pub of the Year on five previous occasions and it is also the only pub in the county to be featured in 30 consecutive CAMRA Good Beer Guides.
Managing director of Wye Valley Brewery, Vernon Amor, said: “We are extremely proud that The Barrels has won this award and been recognised by CAMRA as a special pub within the county. All credit to Phil Pryce, and his team for their hard work, creativity and commitment to first-cask customer service.”
