AN IT support and solutions company with offices in Kidderminster and Stourport has earned an award in Russia.

OGL Computer was named UK Reseller of the Year 2014 at the Kaspersky European Partner Conference held in Moscow.

The award recognises OGL’s commitment to offering the high-quality IT security solutions to its 1,000 customers and commends the company’s continual achievement of accreditations, as well as its sales and marketing activity.

The firm, which also has an office in Edinburgh, employs more than 230 staff.

The awards ceremony was held in Russia’s capital city aboard the Radisson Royal Flotilla, a floating restaurant, and was attended by OGL’s planned services manager, Angela Bourne.

The event was held over three days, which included speeches from a variety of speakers covering Kaspersky’s strategy for the future, new product developments and new opportunities for partners.

All guests were given a tour of the Kaspersky Lab Headquarters and took part in a team-building activity, where each team was given a vintage car and had to drive round Moscow, following instructions to arrive at different locations within certain timeframes.

Ms Bourne, said: “I was very proud to represent OGL at this amazing event in Moscow and to receive the award on behalf of all the staff, who work so hard to ensure we remain at the forefront of what is happening in the IT security market.

"New IT security threats arise every week and we work very hard to ensure our customers’ data and systems remain safe and protected. I would also like to congratulate Wick Hill, our distribution partner, who won two awards on the night.”
