EUROVISION winners Bucks Fizz and Brotherhood of Man are heading to Kidderminster for a charity concert on Saturday.

Proceeds from the event, at Kidderminster Harriers Social Club in Stadium Close, will be donated to Sunfield special school in Clent, boosting the appeal for the new educational centre at the site.

The concert will feature major hits by both groups, who between them had six number one records and more than 30 chart hits during the 1970s and early 1980s, as well as two winning Eurovision Song Contest entries.

The entire original line-up of Brotherhood of Man will kick off the show with 1976 Eurovision Song Contest winner Save all Your Kisses for Me and favourites like Angelo and Figaro.

Bucks Fizz, featuring original band member, Bobby G, will then perform their most popular hits, including their 1981 Eurovision winner, Making Your Mind Up, If You Can’t Stand the Heat and My Camera Never Lies, along with all the familiar dance routines and costume changes.

Event organiser, Steve Jones, said: “Between them these two bands dominated the pop world during the 70s and early 80s and sold over 40 million records.

“They were regular performers on Top of the Pops and it is really exciting to have them performing for us in Kidderminster.

“I have been organising events for Sunfield for some years now and, when I heard about the appeal for the new £3.5 million classroom facilities at the school I really wanted to help, because, as a charity, they do not receive any government funding for this sort of project.

“It’s going to be a real trip down memory lane for everyone. There will also be a supporting disco, a raffle, Irish stand-up bingo, a licenced bar and food available, so it promises to be a lot of fun.”

Tickets are available on the door or in advance from Steve Jones on 07834 519520.

Doors open at 7pm with the supporting disco at 8pm. The show is due to start with Brotherhood of Man on stage at around 8.30pm.
