WOLVERLEY and Cookley Historical Society are holding an exhibition of their continuing research into what happened to people from their villages during World War One.

The exhibition will include information on those who were killed and what was happening on the home front.

During a year of research, the society has found over 400 men with a connection to the two villages who served in the war.

Janet Oliver, chairman of the historical society, said: “A group of about six of us started looking at the war memorials.

“We decided we wanted to find out what happened to the men that served and what happened to the men that died.

“We also want to know what happened to the families whose sons went to war.”

The exhibition will be held in the Memorial Hall, Wolverley from 11.02am to 5pm on Sunday November 9.
