A COUNTRY music star who last year celebrated three decades in the business will be performing at a special event in Kidderminster.

Travis Logan will be presented with a trophy to acknowledge his dedication to country music at the Wyre Valley Country Music Club's next event on Friday, April 18.

Mayor of Bewdley Linda Candlin will be on hand to make the presentation at St George's Social Club, in Radford Avenue, in Kidderminster from 8pm.

Travis' career has taken him on tour to various places around the world including Nashville, Tennessee, where he was the first UK artist to be asked by a company from music row to represent them at the Country Music Association's music festival.

Club organiser Tony Hinton said: "Influenced by the likes of Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash, Travis writes from the heart with all the emotion you would expect from a traditional country song and delivered in his distinctive pure country voice.

"His devotion to real country music, his repertoire of songs, his skills as a musician and his songwriting along with shelf full of awards makes Travis one of the finest country music artists Britain has ever produced."
