THE members of a Kidderminster band are looking forward to celebrating 21 years performing together with a live showing in Upton-upon-Severn this weekend.

Blind Lemon is performing at this year’s Sunshine Festival in the Malvern Hills town on Saturday.

Dan Koisser, drummer, said: “We are really looking forward to performing at the Sunshine Festival and when the organisers approached us to play we thought it would be a great way to celebrate our 21st Anniversary.

“We are working hard on the set for the festival and are confident it’s going to be a great show.”

Since the band was formed in 1993 by Dan and guitarist Nick McCarthy, they have performed all over the country and raised thousands of pounds for local and national good causes.

The group have raised money for Kemp Hospice, MacMillan Cancer Support, Roy Castle Lung Foundation and a recent gig helped raise more than £2,500 for Children with Cancer.

The band is also made up of Mark Pearsall, vocalist, Rich Morgan, bass guitarist, Andrew Stelmasiak, keyboard player, and Saxophonist Tim Pickering.

At the festival they will be including a couple of new songs to accompany their mix of soul, rock, new wave and ska classics.

Sunshine Festival runs from the August 22 to 24, with 60 acts performing on three stages over the three days.
