POPULAR comedian, author and film maker Tony Hawks is set to recount his amusing and sometimes fraught story of his career when he appears in Birmingham later this week.

The regular panellist on hit BBC shows such as Just A Minute, I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue and QI will combine storytelling, stand-up, musical comedy and film clips for his two hour show.

He will share stories on how he became an independent film maker - producing both Round Ireland With A Fridge and Playing The Moldovans At Tennis, based on true stories he wrote.

He'll also be recounting tales and the odd reading from his long awaited new book - Once Upon A Time In The West Country, the story of how he went from being a townie to a country yokel. This may also reveal how he came to spend a hotel room with a pig.

Tony will appear at the Glee Club in Birmingham on Friday, March 20. Doors will open at 8pm and tickets are cost £8-£12.50. They are available from glee.co.uk or on 0871 472 0400.
