A RECORD label based in Kidderminster will show off its roster of talent at a free pub gig on Saturday.
The recently re-opened Red Man, in Blackwell Street, Kidderminster, will host performances by rock band Sons of Beaches and solo artist Mark Bicknell.
Both acts are signed to Limbo Sounds, a label run by Phil Preece, a former guitar instructor for Yamaha.
Sons of Beaches, fronted by Carl Wilkes, landlord of the Sutton Arms pub in Kidderminster, have begun recording their debut album, which will be produced by Phil.
Carl said: “We are all extremely excited about recording our album, as we also have Phil on board for this one and look forward to working alongside him and seeing what he can bring to the table.”
Phil said it had been “exciting” working with the band as it provided a contrast to Mark Bicknell’s record, Genre, which was Limbo Sounds’ first release in July.
“Sons of Beaches have got a rabid fanbase but nothing commercially that shows them off,” he explained. “Mark hasn’t got a large fanbase and we’re hoping to build that up.”
Saturday’s gig will be Mark’s first public performance, with a national tour in the pipeline for later in the year.
