Star Wars director JJ Abrams will unveil “a special look” at the new film at Comic-Con.
The filmmaker, who is directing the seventh episode Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will be joined by LucasFilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy and writer Lawrence Kasdan to offer up some surprises at the event in San Diego.
Some “special guests” will also attend the panel, with fans already speculating about potential cast members that could make an appearance.
Authors including Alexandra Bracken (the Darkest Minds series), Adam Gidwitz (A Tale Dark and Grim series), Tom Angleberger (The Origami Yoda series) and Tony Diterlizzi will discuss the Star Wars books.
The franchise’s new action figures will also be revealed at the San Diego Convention Centre on July 10, while experts from Industrial Light And Magic (ILM) will discuss their visual effects work in previous films.
Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill will return to reprise their roles in the new Star Wars film, and they are joined by newcomers such as Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, John Boyega and Daisy Ridley.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released on December 18.
San Diego’s Comic-Con runs from July 9-12.
