Saturdays star Rochelle Humes could be vying for viewers with her husband, The Voice host Marvin Humes, after she signed on to present The X Factor’s spin-off show.
The singer will join Kiss FM DJ Melvin Odoom on ITV2′s The Xtra Factor this autumn.
Her husband, who shot to fame on The X Factor as part of boyband JLS, took over co-hosting duties on its BBC rival The Voice last year.
Melvin, who has hosted Kiss FM’s breakfast show for eight years, said he was “a massive fan” of the show and described it as “a dream” job.
Rochelle said: “I have watched The Xtra Factor for years so I am beyond excited about joining such a brilliant team and getting to work with my old friend Melvin makes it even better.
“I also can’t wait to meet the contestants and be a part of their X Factor experience.”
The announcement comes days after the show unveiled a “new generation” of judges, revealing that Radio 1 breakfast show host Nick Grimshaw and singer Rita Ora will join Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini in the next series.
Rita previously starred as a judge on The Voice. The new judges take the place of show veteran Louis Walsh and former Spice Girl Mel B, who sat on the panel last year.
