MONTY Python’s historic last performance will be shown live on the big screen at St George’s Hall.

The show featuring John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin is taking place at The 02 Arena in London but will be broadcast live at 450 cinemas across the UK and 1,500 worldwide, including the local arts and community hub in Bewdley.

It is 40 years since the group, whose combined age is 357, last appeared on stage in the UK and more than three decades since it last performed live.

The Pythons said the show will be “a final weepy, hilarious, uproarious, outrageous farewell”.

Tickets to the live screening, which will take place at 7pm on Sunday, July 20, cost £20 and can be purchased from St George’s Hall cafe or by calling 01299 400110. The bar opens at 6.30pm.

Spaces are limited to 150 so repeat screenings will take place at 7pm on Tuesday, July 22 and Friday, July 25 with tickets costing £12.
