AN INTREPID cyclist, author and broadcaster will be telling the story of his dramatic quest to travel across Africa alone in Malvern next week.

Mark Beaumont is bringing his ‘Africa Solo’ show to Festival Theatre in Grange Road on Wednesday, March 30.

In 2015, Mark set a solo record for cycling from Cairo to Cape Town in under 42 days by travelling an average of 160 miles each day.

His ‘Audience With’-style show will tell the heart-warming story of that challenge which saw him riding through deserts, across mountains and the continent’s vast savannah.

Previously, Mark hit the headlines and became known as ‘The Man Who Cycled the World when he completed a record breaking 18,000 circumnavigation trip around the globe.

He has also previously cycled the Americas, rowed the Arctic as well as almost drowned after capsizing during an attempt at the mid-Atlantic rowing record.
