THE world of the traditional nativity play will be given a comic twist by the Nonentities in their festive offering.

The Flint Street Nativity, by Tim Firth, will come to the Rose Theatre, in Kidderminster, between Monday, November 28, and Saturday, December 3.

The show is a hilarious insight into the preparation and delivery of a school nativity play and will resound with everyone who has experienced the highs and lows of being cast in their first stage role as a child.

A spokesman said: “The seven-year-olds of Miss Horrock’s class – all played by adults – are busily preparing for their moment in the spotlight.

“Squabbles and laughs aplenty as the children have to cope with a subversive Innkeeper, a Herod who won’t stop waving at his parents, a donkey with a penchant for shouting and a Gabriel who really wants the part of Mary.”

Chris Clarke, director, added: “Audiences are in for a Christmas cracker of a show which exposes the infant politics lurking under the veneer of a cosy school tradition.”

The show will suitable for ages 12 and over.
