ANDREW Lloyd-Webber's record-breaking musical, Cats, is coming to the Rose Theatre for four performances.

Kidderminster Operatic and Dramatic Society's youth section's production shows at the theatre between Thursday, July 6, and Saturday, July 8 - including a Saturday matinee.

Adapted from TS Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, this wonderful blend of fantasy, drama and romance is set on the night that the Jellicle Cats meet for the Jellicle Ball - in a sparkling fusion of music, dance and verse.

With a musical score that includes the timeless Memory, well thought out set design, stunning costumes and wonderful choreography, Cats is a magical musical like no other.

James Skidmore, director and choreographer - who has been working with the group nine to 18-year-olds - said: "Cats has been one of the most challenging things I have ever done, but when I see how much the cast are enjoying putting the show together, it makes it all worth it.

"I am so excited and proud for everyone to see this production."

One of the longest-running shows in the West End and Broadway - Cats has enchanted audiences in more than 300 cites around the world - and now arrives in Kidderminster.
