A FASHION show with a difference took place in Stourport to raise awareness of fairtrade clothing.
Stourport Town Fairtrade group organised the show at Stourport High School with money granted from the Midcounties Co-operative.
Derek Wood, chairman of the group, said: “Congratulations to everyone involved for such a successful evening. Clothes were by Mandy McIntosh, of Fair2All, in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, models were senior students from the high school and others who did not know they were models until they entered the door.
“Mandy displayed a wide range of clothes many of which were made from Sari materials in vibrant colours.”
Ms McIntosh is a supporter of Fairtrade producers in developing countries who look for self-sufficiency rather than aid.
She has recently returned from a tour of Nepal, Thailand and India on behalf of Tearfund, a relief and development charity.
The show saw models strutting their stuff down a catwalk and clothes were then available to buy.
The community group received a grant of £923 from the Midcounties Co-operative for activities in Fairtrade Fortnight.
