STUDENTS from Mexico on Holy Trinity International School’s (HTIS) international homestay programme were welcomed to the town by Wyre Forest mayors when they visited Kidderminster Town Hall.
The students, from Cenca, met the mayors of Kidderminster, Stourport and Bewdley during a three-week stay and were invited to a personal tour of the Kidderminster mayor’s parlour, before being individually presented with souvenirs depicting the town’s history and industrial heritage by the the town’s mayor, John Aston.
He said: “The evening was a great success and it was a pleasure to meet the students. I’m sure they had a most enjoyable evening and we hope they enjoyed the souvenirs which we gave them.”
HTIS headteacher, Pamela Leek-Wright, said: “It has been very exciting to welcome students from abroad who not only experience what it is like to study and live in Britain but who enrich our own experiences through this cultural exchange.”
At the school, the Mexican students took part in drama sessions and swam in the onsite pool as well as experiencing the day-to-day curriculum of the Holy Trinity students.
Other activities were arranged with their host families.
