STAFF at a Kidderminster florist are celebrating its blooming marvellous victory in a town centre shop window competition.
The Flower Cellar, in the Swan Centre, won first prize in the event, which saw 13 shops throughout the town take part last Thursday as part of “independents’ day” - which celebrated independent shops and businesses.
Manager Leanne Reynolds was presented with a certificate by Kidderminster mayor John Campion. Second prize went to Harvey’s Jewellers, Bull Ring, with manager Annabella Harvey-Lawrence collecting the award. Elizabeth Ireland’s creative display at Top Stitchers, Bridge Street, came third.
Mr Campion said: “There was clearly a lot of effort put into these displays - they all looked tremendous. It was great to see so many businesses get involved in the competition. I’m sure members of the public were impressed.
“Congratulations to the three prize winners and this year’s champion The Flower Cellar.”
The initiative was spearheaded by the manager of Swan Centre-based Tigers Eye, Carol Willoughby and the top three were chosen by Wyre Forest town centres manager Peter Michael.
