A MAN and a woman in a black Vauxhall Corsa may have been responsible for stealing flower pots and plants from outside several addresses in Kidderminster, according to police.

The car was spotted in Ox Bow Way at about 1am on Friday last week. The car was driving through the estate with its boot lid up and lights switched off.

At one of the properties two rectangular, terracotta-style pots with plants were stolen from outside the front door between Thursday evening last week and the following morning.

Blue ceramic pots, which had also been planted up and another terracotta pot were stolen from outside two more houses there the same night.

PC Ryan Petford said: “We suspect there might have been thefts from other homes there which have not been reported but we need to know if that is the case.

“The sighting of the black Corsa in suspicious circumstances was not reported to us at the time and we would like to hear about it if this vehicle has been seen by anyone else or anyone has information that could help us to trace it or its occupants.

“Obviously if it is seen again or residents notice any other suspicious activity they should phone us immediately so we can check it out and hopefully catch the thieves in the act.”

West Mercia Police said this was the latest in a series of thefts of plant pots and garden furniture from outside homes in Kidderminster in recent weeks and urged residents to review their garage, garden and shed security.

Anyone with information about the thefts should call PC Petford at Kidderminster Police Station on 101, quoting 49-N-050713 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
