Police believe the e-fits are strikingly similar and may be the same person.

The image of a man wearing the hat has been compiled by a woman who witnessed a man naked from the waist down near Lea Lane, Cookley, on the evening of Monday last week.

The image of a man without a hat was compiled by a woman who saw a man exposing himself near Springfield Park a week later, on the afternoon on Monday.

Other incidents have included a woman being sexually assaulted by one of three men riding a motorcycle near Caunsall bridge on Saturday, June 29 and two women were approached by a naked man, also near Caunsall bridge, on Wednesday last week.

Officers, including dog handlers, carried out an extensive search of the canal and surrounding area with help from the force helicopter as soon as the latest incident was reported on Monday, and patrols are taking place along the towpaths.

Police are urging walkers and runners to carry mobile phones and contact them immediately on 999 if they witness an exposure.

Anyone who recognises the images or anyone else with information is asked to contact PC Kerrie Paskin on the non-emergency number 101 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
