A KIDDERMINSTER supermarket employee has been named a local hero for her fundraising efforts for Kemp Hospice.

Karen Morton, who works at Sainsbury’s in Kidderminster, was chosen for the Local Heroes scheme for completing challenges for Kemp including the Shuttle 10km, the Midnight Walk and the Bewdley Pubs and Clubs Regatta.

She has also volunteered at the hospice and takes out-of-date flowers from Sainsbury’s to Kemp Hospice for the patients to enjoy.

Sue Harrison, head of care at Kemp Hospice, said: “We are very grateful to Karen for all the help she has given to the hospice on a voluntary basis in such a variety of ways and we are delighted that she has been recognised in this way.”

Sainsbury’s donated £200 to Kemp Hospice as part of the Local Heroes scheme, which notes the positive difference Sainsbury’s employees make in their community.
