CONGRATULATIONS have been pouring in from across Worcestershire after Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to their first child.

The Royal baby boy was born at 4.24pm yesterday in the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London weighing 8lbs 6oz.

The Bishop of Worcester, the Rt Revd Dr John Inge, said: “I was delighted to hear about the birth of a son for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. This is good news not only for the couple and the Royal Family but for the whole nation and the Commonwealth.

"The young prince and his parents will be very much in my prayers. May God bless them all very richly now and in the future.”

Cleobury Mortimer MP Phillip Dunne added: “I was delighted to learn this happy news and wish the Royal Family well on this joyful day.”
