A CYCLIST has been injured in Stourport after a collision with a car which drove off from the scene.

Police officers want to trace the dark-coloured BMW involved in the incident which happened on Sunday between 11.30am and noon in Wilden Lane.

The cyclist, a man in his 20s from Stourport, was riding his BMX bike to work when he collided with the car about 300 yards past the Wilden Land Industrial Estate.

The rider was thrown over the handle bars and landed on the road, breaking his wrist and he also suffered scratches and bruising to his hip. He received treatment at Kidderminster Hospital.

PC Kate Medlam, who is investigating, said: “The BMW did not stop and carried on going in the direction of Kidderminster.

“It may be the driver was not aware of what had happened but we need that person to come forward and speak to us. We also want to hear from anyone who might be able to help us identify the car or indeed saw what took place.”

Anyone with information should call PC Medlam at Kidderminster Police Station on 101, quoting incident 330-S-220713.
