WYRE Forest residents are being reminded to have their say on the number of councillors who will represent the district council in the future.

The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England is asking whether 33 councillors should serve on Wyre Forest District Council after 2015, nine fewer than the current 42. The public consultation will close on Tuesday, August 6.

Max Caller, chairman of the commission, said: “This consultation is the first, but very important, part of our electoral review of the council. It is your chance to have your say on how your council is run.

“We want to make sure Wyre Forest has the right number of councillors to be able to take decisions on behalf of residents in an effective way as well as being able to represent the interests of all local communities. This is your chance to shape your council for the future.”

As part of the review, the council’s election cycle and the authority’s boundaries are also being considered.

To have your say, visit consultation.lgbce.org.uk, email reviews@lgbce.org.uk or write to The Review Officer (Wyre Forest), LGBC, Layden House, 76-78 Turnmill Street, London, EC1M 5LG.
