AT just over a week old, baby Alyssa Williams, of Kidderminster, already has royal connections.

Not only was she born on the same day as the newborn prince but three members of her family also share birthdays with other Royals.

Little Alyssa was delivered in Worcester three hours after Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed George Alexander Louis into the world at a London hospital at 4.24pm on Monday last week.

That is not all she has in common with the Duke of Cambridge, as her uncle, David Williams, was born three minutes before Prince William, on June 21, 1982.

In another coincidence, David’s wife Louisa shares her birthday with Prince Harry, while their daughter Lauren – Alyssa’s cousin – has the same birthdayas the Queen.

Proud parents Zara Fayres, 23, and Jay Williams, 27, said the date of Alyssa’s arrival made her birth extra special for the family.

In another royal twist, Mr Williams’ parents Susan and David’s wedding anniversary is the same date as the late Princess Diana’s birthday.

Mr Williams said: “It’s been a massive shock really but everyone said[Alyssa] was meant to be born on that date because of the connections with the Royals and our family.”

He added his brother David appeared in two newspapers when he was born and was also given free milk.

Baby Alyssa was born at Worcestershire Royal Hospital at 7pm, weighing just over 7lbs.

Miss Fayres added: “We were really excited because originally our first due date was the same as the duchess’ and they changed it to August 4. We both had our babies on the same date, even though we had different due dates.

“As soon as we got to the hospital the midwives were saying that we could have her on the same day. I’m pleased that we did because of the other family members. It just makes it really nice.”
