Creative people in Wyre Forest will have the opportunity to shape the festival.
By teaming up with The Xpression Leisure Grant Scheme, KAF is able to annually offer a £1,500 grant to fund a one-off commission of creative genius through its Dragons’ Den-style event.
This is perfect for people with a great creative idea but no means of funding it. The only thing that stands between entrants and the funding is 20 minutes with a panel made up of arts experts to convince them that their idea is simply the best. The winner of the grant will then present this newly-commissioned project at KAF 2014.
Another key local connection for KAF is its link with KAF Creatives.
An independent group of contemporary artists who meet monthly in Kidderminster, they were initially set up in 2010 as a partner group who would work closely with KAF to enable artists to use the event as a platform.
Since then they have delivered a range of ambitious projects as part of the festival programme, including Subway Deluxe which has transformed the Comberton Hill subway.
